2015 Honda HR-V – Specs

Honda is about to release a redesigned HR-V compact crossover. This mini SUV was launched in 1999, and was produced until 2006. At the time, Honda decided to focus its production on larger SUVs, such as the CR-V. However, the HR-V is now coming back on the market, restyled and upgraded. It is considered to be a perfect family car made for those living in the urban areas.

2015 Honda HR-V –  Design

The new Honda HR-V is set on the Honda Fit platform, also known as Honda Jazz. However, it will also borrow some elements from its “big brother”, the CR-V, offering much more space and extra leg room for the rear seats. It will also be several inches longer and higher, and the overall weight has been slightly reduced. Judging by the released photos, it could be one of the most attractive cars in its class. An interesting detail is the hidden rear door handles, which contribute to the smooth and sporty design. The interior design is equally stylish and luxurious. It can accommodate up to five passengers. One of the many features will be the Magic Seat system, which enables various seating arrangements and the folding of the entire second row, thus creating extra cargo space.

2015 Honda HR-V – Powertrain

Honda has yet to release the official engine lineup for the new 2015 Honda HR-V. However, since it is set on the Fit platform, it is safe to assume that it will come with the same powertrain under the hood. Most likely, it will be powered by a 1.5 L petrol four-cylinder engine which provides 130 hp. The power will be transmitted through a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. From 0 to 60 mph it reaches in around 8.5 seconds. It is possible that the turbocharged and the hybrid version will also be available later, depending on the success of the base model.

2015 Honda HR-V – Release date and price

The 2015 Honda HR-V will probably be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The sales should start by the end of the year. The pricing has yet to be revealed, but it is estimated that it will cost between $18,000 and $19,000.
